ESS Becomes a Shareholder in CleanSea
We have a strong appreciation for exceptional entrepreneurs. Lukas and Mikaela Juhler exemplify this, demonstrating outstanding commitment in their work to remove plastic from the nation’s coastlines. Clean Sea, originally founded as a UF (Young Enterprise) company, is now experiencing rapid growth.
The business model is both simple and highly effective, offering numerous mutual benefits. ESS has acquired a minority stake in the company and is committed to supporting its continued expansion and increasing its visibility.
CleanSea was started by twins Lukas and Mikaela Julher in 2019. Since we were kids we've spent our summers with our family along the west coast of Sweden. We've been swimming in the salty ocean. We've fished for crabs, mackerel and clams. Gone diving to explore all the fascinating marine life. And we've of course been on walks along the beautiful Bohuslän coastline. It's easy to say, the ocean has a special place in our hearts.
But on one of these walks we found a bay in Ramsvikslandet, full of plastic. Plastic bottles, bags, ropes, discarded fishing nets and plastic packaging in all shapes, sizes and colors. Thousands of pieces.
